{about.me}

Writing an “About Me” page on a blog is very intimidating, akin to writing your own dating profile page I would assume.

What do people really want to know about me?  Can’t they just read the blog to find out the answers?  Ok, ok – I’ll give you the scoop as I see it but I think you’d better stay tuned to develop your own opinions.

I am an anal-retentive perfectionist, Martha Stewart wanna-be crafter, dog obsessed girlfriend, daughter, sister, and friend.

I grew up in Richmond, VA where I learned the South won the War of Northern Aggression (1861-865) through strategic compromise.  While attending a private middle school and the only all-girls Catholic high school in the state I made some of the best friends a girl could ask for; many of them I have had the honor of calling friends for over 20 years.  My education continued at Virginia Tech where I learned what real tailgating was – & happened to meet my future Beau.

Although we met in college, Beau and I didn’t start dating until 2008.  I adore his family & consider them mine own too.

My family means EVERYTHING to me.  My sisters and mother are my very best friends in the whole-wide world and I’m convinced there are no children more beautiful than my nieces and nephew.  When I look in the mirror I (sometimes reluctantly) see the pieces my parents and grandparents instilled, both physically and emotionally.

I still think that aside from the whole brainwashing bit, being a Stepford wife sounds like a dream job.  The hair, the clothes, the manners, and chivalry – SIGN ME UP.  I love everything preppy or crafty.  I can sew, and decoupage, build furniture, and cook.  I even enjoy the occasional cleaning.

I know I’m not perfect, and the title of the blog is not meant to imply I am.  I simply practice each day to make myself a little better; after all – practice makes perfect right?  For now I’m just waiting for my own white picket fence, and imperfect little family to continue practicing on. Join me in my continuous Pursuit of Perfection.
